In December 1991, a group of armed people entered a farm in the small town of Caloto, in the Nilo region of Colombian Cauca. They shot everybody, killing twenty natives.
Just a year later, the indigenous communities called for a big meeting to remember and denounce the massacre. The criminals still have not been brought to justice and the authorities are not showing any interest in solving this case.
This document shows the fighting of the indigenous Nasa people (or Páez) in order to get back lands that historically belonged to the community and were taken by the rich landlords.
